Abortion and equality?

Consider the following scenarios:

A woman gets pregnant and doesn't want the child, but the man does. He has no rights whatsoever if she chooses to have an abortion.

A woman gets pregnant and wants the child, but the man doesn't. He has no rights whatsoever, and can also be required to pay child support for 18 years.

What can or should be done to provide the man in these equations some equal share in the decision, to either give him the right to raise the child he wants, or to not pay for the child he doesn't want?

  1. He has given up all of his post pregnancy rights during the conception - perhaps he should have thought about the possible consequences of his actions prior to the scenarios you site in your question.

  2. Sick, isn't it? Something needs to be changed.

  3. The Ilegalization of whimsical abortion comes to mind.

  4. Life's not fair.

  5. I think we should just ban abortions altogether. People are talking about the women's rights, and the father's rights. What about the baby's rights. Shouldn't the baby get the most basic right of all- the right to live?

  6. Man up chap,i feel your thinking is distorted. If the man wants the child, take care of the lady carrying it,make legal arrangements to be the parent (you will have 9 months to do so).

If the lady doesnt want it,and you dont either, you both  can always show up in Dulce, New Mexico and say "here I am ",the underground facility there would love to have your unborn child,so they can use your unused DNA to produce a creature to pay your Karma back.

  7. Outlook not so good

  8. Nothing. It isnt his body.

  9. Men have no rights. It's that simple. If your wife or GF wants to kill your baby then you have no say, however, if they keep it we HAVE to pay up.

    Laws need to change!

It's time we fathers have more rights!

Also, your child can be put up for adoption against your wishes if you're not married.

  10. comes down to this basic idea: women have rights, men have responsibilities.

  11. I only support abortion for extreme cases, such as when the woman's life is in danger.

Anything else is a big NO in my book.
