wow... what a controversial subject.

some people are for it, some strongly against it.

as for myself...well, i feel that if you are feeling responsible enough to do the deed, you should be responsible enough to care for the product of your actions.

and if you cant, there are plenty of ways to prevent pregnancy, and women should explore her options for all types of birth control before even considering intercourse. an abortion is not, by any means, an acceptable form of birth control.

before considering abortion, perhaps the mother of the child should consider adoption. because there are plenty of people who cant concieve, and would love to raise the unwanted child.

I feel that the only acceptable conditions for an abortion is if a woman is raped or if the child cannot lead a happy healthy life.

there are always other options... abortion isnt the only answer.

No way, not at all.  Abortion is never to be used as a form of birth control - basically, if you're having s*x willingly, then no abortion.  You should have been prepared and well, babies happen when s*x happens.  So, whether the mother is fine with it or not, it's still wrong there (at least in my opinion).  Now, in cases of rape, abortion is viewed differently by many.  I would say it's fine (though, I know some disagree) - but, this is why it's such a touchy issue.

It seems that is what society says.  If a pregnant woman is murdered, and her child dies too, then wouldn't the criminal be charged with TWO murders?

But if the pregnant woman choses to have her child killed, then suddenly, that is acceptable behavior.

We live in a society that "saves the trees and kills the children."

She may see selfish advantages to this choice.But the baby has a life but no choices?I think the unborn child should have rights also.A woman may be a drug addict can she make a choice for an unborn child.She doesn't even make good choices for herself.I know a  woman who has had two abortions and now that she is older she becomes very distressed snd dispondent whenever she thinks about them.She has two beautiful sons but the children she aborted were little girls.She cries and sobs unconrtolably and even has had many phycriatric visits and medications she says I killed my little girls I cannot accept it I have killed my own family.My babies.I have tried to console her frequently and she is just so unhappy.She has turned out to be a wonderful mother to her sons and a beautiful person in so many ways but the problem is that as a younger woman she thought this was the easy solution and now that she has matured she regrets her youthful mistakes(which we all do someway or another) The woman who puts a child up for addoption is often plagued with the same regrets later .They wonder where the child is and if it is happy and think about it everyday.These are choices that effect the child and mother the rest of their lives not just a quick solution to a desprete person.Yet this is later seen by them this way.Their unhappiness effects their entire family and their husbands are lost as to what to do.Once my sisters husband insisted that she abort their second child she refused and it caused a good deal of problems for her but she is so glad she didn't give into presure.He later left her for a much younger woman and she still has the little girl he wanted he to get rid of.She is a most loveing and beautiful young woman and has two children of her own.What a waste it would have been.

I belive in some states that abortion is not legal. If I had another baby and

didn't wan't it I would care the baby the full term then put it up for adoption.

I would probably trade out the word "happy" with "content", but yes.  If she can live with the decision and make better choices and help other women, then I definitely respect her.
