Personally

I think up until 3 months, you should have the right to do as you wish.

past 3 months, it should be seen by all laws as a life and respected as such.

what is your views?

  1. only and only if a woman's life is in danger

  2. The words of Sarah Palin's Spokesperson Tucker today: "Keep private matters private among family." "It is dangerous to confuse public and private."  "The family decided to keep the baby."  Notice "decided."

No woman should be forced to have children or forced to have an abortion, like in China.

The republicans have only one issue - regulating private lives to distract from public policy so they can sell the country from under our feet. It's working pretty well to focus on regulating the working class woman's uterus, and their goal is to outlaw any education about ovulation, fertility and contraception to make sure women have at least ten pregnancies.

A vote for republicans is a vote to continue selling our country to the highest bidder, would render the Pledge of Allegiance meaningless, and would outlaw the word liberty in the Pledge of Allegiance, the 4th of July's Declaration of Independence and the Statue of Liberty.

Until the fetus becomes a baby abortion is allowed.  Medically, a fetus turns to a baby when it takes it's first breath.  That is after it separates from its mother.

My parents first date went so well that 9 months later there I was. They had a shot gun wedding 2 weeks before I came into the world.

Mom was unsure if she wanted a child in the beginning and almost aborted the pregnancy. Prior to her pregnancy with me, she had been raped by a stalking policeman, had an illegal abortion and nearly bled to death since she wasn't allowed quality care. The abortion rules had changed when she conceived me. My father's grandparents and his female friends pushed him to "marry that girl." I am loved by my family.

Today, more and more people are turning away from the church for political reasons and consequently are not getting married. I don't know how many churches have lost their tax exemption status for forcing their congregation to vote for one political group for only one reason.

Often these churches are as black and white and can't understand anyone different from themselves. These people like to be told what to do.

Medically, a fetus turns to a baby at its first breath. Everyone is excited and wanting to know its name, its colors, and to interact with it. These newborns are more valued than 2 year olds and 18 year olds. 140 million orphans in the world of all ages, colors, and abilities would like to be valued as much as newborns.

I am happy that the government doesn't regulate women's bodies as communist China does. Many churches in our country seem set on making sure every woman has 10 children to grow their congregation and money coffers. My grandmother was pregnant 18 times.

During my aunt's 8th pregnancy the doctors told her the fetus without a skull would die as soon as the it became a baby. My aunt almost orphaned 7 children in his delivery. She was given full choices every step of the way and the doctor were allowed to do their job. An emergency C-section saved her life.

I hope women continue to be valued in this country. I hope no one has the government deciding what their body can or cannot do, especially for the women with tubal pregnancies.

To give rights to a fetus, rights of men, women, and children have to be relinquished. However, with the number of "prolifers," surrogates for rape victims should be much higher. Every other type of transplant is higher in demand from hearts to kidneys. I think prolifers should walk the walk and become surrogates for the feti conceived in rape that they so cherish.

Doctors first job is to save the mother and then support her wishes. If women are not allowed their wishes, why would they risk getting pregnant?

Another problem is that many churches don't want women to know the basics of fertility or have access to contraception. It appears they value her uterus more than her brain.

To force a woman against her will to have children is in essence slavery.

  3. I myself am Pro Life and that the baby is viable at conception but that doesn't mean that eveyrone else has to believe this.

I think our laws should be CHOICE

If someone CHOOSES to get an abortion, there should be a safe way for it be provided.  Doctor's should not be REQUIRED to perform the procedure.  They can elect not to provide such a service but rather defer the patient to a qualified physician.  SInce this procedure would be ELECTIVE (just like breast augmentation) it should not be demanded that it is covered by insurance.  IF you CHOOSE to have that insurance included, your permiums should be higher, just as they should be if you are a smoker, drinker, or overweight.

First responder - the baby may not have asked to be here - but it didn't asked to be killed either.

I have a slight problem with some who call themselves Pro Choice also - they seem to scream CHOICE, CHOICE, CHOICE until someone chooses to keep the baby.  Then they change their tune and say keeping the baby is a mistake.  Are they really Pro Abortion and want the government to decide whether you keep your baby or not?  Very disturbing.

  4. Abortion is the intentional termination of a human life without legal due process in a court of law.  That isn't arguable.

Further, that is a situation extant from the moment of conception because life, human life, is present from that moment.  This too isn't arguable.  If that were not true then there wouldn't be an abortion issue.

The stage or progress of fetal development does not apply to, and does not alter the truth of, the original statement.  It is what it is and attempts to enter the stage of fetal development into the discussion are nothing more than attempts to prop up a flawed argument.

We have a name for the act of terminating a human life without due process in a court of law.  You do know what it is don't you?

It will be interesting to see how the libs try to discredit this analogy, don't you think?

To Thandal (above):  It's not alive until it's born????  Then why will it keep growing if not aborted?

  5. I agree with you on the 3 months period. I believe that before that, the fetus is more or less cells developing without being a conscious being. After that, the fetus is already more like a baby.

I'm absolutely pro choice. Rape happens, 'accidents' can happen, and I think one should always think about the future life of the unborn. In many cases, the circumstances are just too bad for a child to grow up in. Imagine parents who do not want a child, to raise it? The child will feel unwelcome, unloved, and will possibly have issues with that for the rest of it's life. So should we ignore that?

Besides that, I think a woman also should have the choice of saying no to having a child. You might say that 'she should keep her legs together' but as I said before, there are cases in which a girl gets pregnant after being raped (and imagine being the child from that!), and also things can go wrong, accidents really do happen. Should the child suffer for that? And the woman? Both possibly for the rest of their lives?

I think, actually, if I read things about child abuse, that in many cases the question should not be 'Do you really want to not have a child'?, but should be more often: 'do you really want to have a child? And what will you do to make sure you raise this child the best as you can, to make sure he is gonna be a healthy individual?'

  6. 100% for pro-choice. We as a people have no right to tell a woman what she can do with her own body, or whatever is inside it. We don't know her experiences, her situation, her life.

  7. i think i agree with you

This is one of the hardest issues for me. i see both sides of the argument

  8. Catch it early, get an abortion. Except in extreme situations where there was a "missed miscarriage" and didn't realize you were still pregnant, then you should still be able to get an abortion.  The world is seriously overpopulated. If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

  9. Abortion should be avoided at all costs.

Use condoms, birth control pills, and other contraceptives first.

If those fail, and you are not ready to have children, you should be able to legally obtain an abortion in the first trimester. Whether it is Mefipristone(RU-486) or dilation and curettage.

Any pregnancy termination after the first trimester should occur only if the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother.

Abortion should never be illegal, because like Prohibition, people will find a way to get one.

  10. Its a womans right to chose.  Its not alive until it breaths its first breath.  A fetus is just a fetus, its not a baby yet.

  11. Pro-life!

Sure its a womens "choice" but its also her "choice" to spread her legs and not be protected! (unless the rare case of rape or incest)

  12. i completely agree with you. its not my business to tell someone else how to live their life..even though I wish people wouldnt use it as birth control, i dont have the right to control someone else's life. ok pro-lifers, go ahead and give me a thumbs down, i dont care.

i had to do a 6 page essay on whether or not abortion should be legal as a senior in high school and after doing all the research, i couldnt find anything that told me that it should be illegal in the first term. and after that, only if its to save the life of the mother.

  13. GO abortion, its my right and my body and my life and my v****a.

  14. yeah i think its the mothers choice in the early stages when the embryo has no brain waves or anything yet. But after that its pretty cruel. If she does not want it she can then put it up for adoption i suppose. Because what kind of life will the poor child have with someone who doesnt want it or cant look after it.

  15. Pro-Choice. It's the woman's body which makes it her choice not the goverment.

  16. I like to sit on the fence and watch the pro lifers and the pro choicers tear each other to pieces!

I'm a jester of sorts if you will and I'm not loyal to anyone side. Sometimes I find it convenient to keep the baby alive and sometimes I don't.

  17. We don't know for sure when life starts, thus it's better to assume it starts at conception. Just as in the case when we keep patients on life support when we do not know their wishes.

I'm inclined, however to believe abortion should be allowed only in extreme medical emergencies when both mother and child would be lost but the mother could be saved.

  18. If the woman wants to go ahead with it, I fully support her right to do such.

  19. personally, I probably wouldn't abort unless my life were at risk.

Collectively, I wouldn't place my own personal opinions on another woman's body. Further, since I have never been raped or molested, I can't begin to imagine what a woman would feel like to carry a child of rape to term....a constant, hourly reminder of the pain of rape/incest is way too much for many women to bear.

  20. Pro abortion on demand.

If it's illegal, women will still seek it, just from unsafe doctors.

The vast majority of women seek abortion in the first term.

  21. I don't feel right about putting time limits like that on an abortion.

I sort of feel that if a fetus can survive outside of the womb, and a government wants to regulate the laws about that fetus, then that government should fund the survival of that fetus should the mother decide to have it removed, thus avoiding total abortion. If the government wants to get involved, then it should get involved and not pu**y out. And if a person wants to keep somebody else from having an abortion, then they should be willing to raise an unwanted child.

    Seems pretty simple to me.

  22. wrong wrong wrong...no exceptions..

the child did not ask to be here

  23. Ever hear of a condom?

That is complete disrespect for the process and beauty of life, just because it is "convenient" for you to choose up to 3 months

  24. We can't judge a womans body and tell her what to do. Countries where the abortion is illegal woman find other means to get unhealthy ones and those countries have high mortality rates for infants and woman. We should to more to give s*x education in countries like Europe where teen pregnancy and std's are way down.

How many unwanted children never get adopted? We would be bombarded with high welfare costs and shelters for kids if this were such. I never hear a pro-lifer offering her home to adopting a kid where the mother decided to keep the body.

I believe that the fetus belongs to the mother and isn't declared a human until the baby is born. You don't give the unborn child a social security number do you?
