  1. Well, some people are against permitting abortion AND birth control. And i bet you'll meet some of them soon enough.

The difference, dear, is that the point of birth control is to prevent fertilization and, therefore, pregnancy. Abortion is terminating a pregnancy after it began. And therein lies the problem. You see, for some people, "human life" beings at conception or fertilization. Therefore, ending the pregnancy after that is murder.

It is a logical consequence of a stupid argument.

  2. Birth control prevents pregnancy. Abortion gets rid of the pregnancy. You can't have an abortion if you don't get pregnant. They are not the same thing since one prevents a pregnancy, the other destroys a human being. And God did not give us s*x just for procreation. Apparently you haven't read the erotic poetry in the Bible called The Song Of Songs.

  3. Birth control doesn't take a life that already exists. Abortion does.

  4. Hmm, not having s*x leaves you not pregnant too.  I guess that means you are in favour of people having s*x all day every day, just to be sure, if they're married, of course - but presumably it is therefore sinful not to get married and have maximum s*x to as to ensure pregnancy as often and as much as possible.  I guess that means that anyone who hasn't yet managed to get married, is too young to get married or has been widowed will have to work extremely hard in order to do all the work that's needed to keep everyone alive.

Wow, what a peculiar world is created by taking you seriously!!

EDIT:  thanks for your addition, which makes clear that this isn't YOUR version of life but the church's.  It seems to me a sensible and caring decision to prevent future pregnancies, so that you can give your love and care to the children you already have, and ensure them the best start in life.  Personally, if I were you, I'd seek out a different church - this is the sort of disagreement that will probably cause serious difficulties because even if you could ignore this one particular way in which you're at odds with them, the overall belief and attitude will permeate other things.

  5. i don't now

  6. umm one kills the baby and with the other you don't even have the baby to kill it

  7. Abstaining from s*x would also leave one "not pregnant"...

Using your logic, that would be the same as terminating a pregnancy, now wouldn't it?

  8. Birth control and abortions are two VERY different things! You can not compare the two. It is stupid to try to. Birth control does not kill a baby! Think a little bit!

  9. To you it's the same thing???????

    Birth control prevents the pregnancy..

Abortion terminates an already EXISTING pregnancy...

If you don't know the difference you need to go talk to your mother..

  10. Abortion and birth control are not the same thing. Abortion is when there is an actual being that is oging to be born and is going to be alive and then you kill it. Birth control is just taking away the option of creating a child, it's different form killing it. Killing it means it has to exist already. Birth control doesn't kill the child. The child isn't even made so it's not murder. They are not the same thing, not even close. Abortion isn't the same because it's alive and you have a choice to let it live but you decide to kill it. Birth control is different because you just stop the process of it being made, you're not killing it because it's not even made.

  11. It is not at all the same thing.

At conception a new human being with an unique set of genes in its DNA is created. That is true biologically, not legally, because legally a human being only exists after birth.

All the confusion arises from that.

  12. A life begins at conception. (Ps 139:16) Abortion is ending that life that has begun.

Birth control is to prevent, stop, conception. A life has not begun.

A note though. Some birth controls are abortional.

  13. I'm not for birth control, per se, but I prefer contraception to people going out and having abortions.  Really, contraception is the lesser of two evils.  In my opinion.

In a perfect world, people would only have s*x if they were ready to have children.  But it's not a perfect world.  So I see no need to restrict contraception.

  14. You are correct. True bible believing christians shouldn't use birth control. Who is Man to play God ? Were  nothing with out God.

  15. Birth control pills, it seems, have stuff in them to cause abortions, just in case.

Condoms, however, are not ways of aborting as they prevent the egg and the sperm from coming together and forming a person.

Abortion is the killing of a person.

Did you know that Planned Parenthood targets blacks? It was started by a supreme racist!

Did you know there are pro-abortionists who want to extend the age at which you can kill your child up to the age of two? Two years, that is.

Yes, they want to kill toddlers.

  16. There are many different types of birth control with different methods. Some prevent ovulation from occurring, which is the release of an egg. Without an egg, you obviously cannot get pregnant to begin with. Other methods inhibit the implantation process, which is controversial to some people, because that prevents a fertilized egg from implanting in the endometrium of the uterus. A good example of the latter type is Plan B emergency contraceptive, or "the morning-after pill".

Some "republicans and christians" ARE against birth control as well as abortion. Some democrats and non-Christians are against the same things. It's not a matter of political party or religious affiliation, it's about morals and ethics.

As for the difference between birth control and abortion, most forms of hormonal birth control prevent ovulation, as I've previously stated, which means that there is no "life" that is being destroyed, as with abortion. The biggest controversy is whether life begins at conception, or whether it begins at birth, which is something that each person has to decide on their own.

Personally, I would prefer every woman who is not ready to have a baby to use birth control so they don't have to go through the process of abortion. But I would not vote to take away the option to have one.

  17. I was taught that s*x was a gift that was reserved for married couples.

Christians believe that abortion is actually killing the baby. However, birth control prevents the baby from being conceived to begin with.

However, there are some different types of birth control pills. Some prevents the pregnancy altogether, others kill the fetus in its early stages.

So I guess it would also depend on the type of BC pill.

Basically, it comes down to whether you're killing a baby or not in most cases.

  18. Christians have abortions too.

Actually Cindy, some birth control may not work at first, and may get rid of whatever cells may have developed.

Either way, it is the woman's choice. Making it illegal will not stop it, let's keep it safe and off the streets.

***Sweden, I'd love to know where that source is. I'm Pro-choice, certainly not pro-child-killing.

  19. Birth control prevents abortions.  Shouldn't that be a priority?  Abstinence is totally unrealistic and unnecessary.

  20. Abortion is murder. You are killing someone that is alive.Birth control prevents conception all together. So, nobody is being killed by birth control. Plus, God gave man the wisdom to make medicine. So, I think he meant for people to use it.Also, we must pray about everything! God will tell you when your family is complete.

  21. Many are against birth control, more than just Catholics.  Doesn't make any sense.

  22. Being opposed to abortion and birth control means being in favor of poverty, starvation, overpopulation, and child abuse.

  23. birth control and abortion are VERY serious sins according to the Catholic Church, i would put them on the same seriousness as murder

  24. The pill can cause early abortions. If you are pro-life you should not be on the pill or use the new coil.

  25. Republicans?  You do realize "Republican" is a political party, not a religion, right?  (Yet.)
