While it has become household news in the football community regarding Fabregas’ potential links with Barcelona, another Arsenal name by the name of Abou Diaby makes his La Liga wish-list public. The French midfielder concedes that a future move to
either http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 or Real Madrid would be too good an option to forgo.
Reflecting upon Arsenal’s last 16 Champions League tie against the Catalans next week, Diaby revealed that he would love to feature in the Spanish League at a later stage of his career. The Frenchman was enthusiastic about the opportunity to compete
for places in either La Liga powerhouse’s squad.
However, if given a choice, he would ideally opt for Barcelona given the similarity of the style of play with his current club. On the counter side, the Arsenal number 2 also admitted that the scars of last season’s thrashing against the club in question
were still fresh in his mind and bearing his loyalties for his current club in mind, the Frenchman was desperate to settle the scores.
Diaby further added: “We played them last season, and we found them at their highest degree of effectiveness, both individually and collectively. This year will be the same, so we know what to expect. Barca are a great team, and this year they are
very strong.”
Diaby makes a fair point here. Based on their record, Pep Guardiola’s side have gotten the better of Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in the recent past. The 2006 Champions League final was another occasion that saw Arsenal 2nd best
against the opposition; losing 2-1 on the night.
Focusing on the Catalan threat, the Arsenal midfielder was weary that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Almunia-c23386 and single-handedly changed the entire complexion
of the game.
The French international concluded:
“Messi is the best in the world. We all know that the Argentine is a great player who can make the difference at any time, but we cannot focus only on him.”
The Spanish League leaders this term have been firing on all cylinders and would need to be efficiently pressed down and the 24-year-old Diaby along with the rest of the Arsenal team would be looking to focus on just that. Maybe this time, it’s Arsenal’s
turn to give Barcelona a taste of their own medicine?
