This just started recently, about a week ago I think. Every now and then there's a bright splotch of light that starts out in the top left corner of my left eye and travels down to the bottom corner in a second, then disappears. I don't get any headaches or anything, but there's a small, almost unnoticeable tingle in my eyebrow when it happens. I fear I may go blind some day. Has anyone experienced this or know what's happening? I have no money or insurance so I can't see a doctor about it...

  1. change to energy saving bulbs!!

  2. Do these flashes preceed a headache? Reason I am asking is that I have what is called opthalmic migraines. Basically they are migraines that are preceded by opthalmic aura. Sometimes is flashing lights, sometimes is distorted vision.

  3. quit smoking meth :]

  4. migraine? optical sort?

  5. uuuummmm...... you have serious cancer dude

  6. Morpheus:  You're the one!

  7. This could be sinus related.  Please do not panic... I just recently got insurance and would worry about everything that was wrong with me and knew I could not afford to go to the doctor.  Lights in the eyes would make anyone worry without insurance.  Please keep an eye on it and if it gets worse I would not care about insurance and go to a clinic and they can do a payment plan.

  8. I've had black dots float down my eyes.  My sister (whose always worn glasses/contacts) says they are called 'floaters", and she says they're probably nothing to worry about.  I thought I had a concussion or something!  maybe if it persists, you should see a doctor.  Mine went away after a couple of weeks.

  9. if you ever ben flashed lately like welding or staring at a bright light it will go away other than that i dont know...

  10. Please call you eye doctor asap!  What you are seeing is pressure in the blood vessels inside your cornea.  Could be nothing, but you don't want to take any chances.
