About 6wks pregnant, scan cant detect heartbeat yet.?

Question

1st scan done at 4 1/2 wks, baby 6mm,

2nd scan done at 6 wks, baby 16mm.

y cant detect heartbeat yet? is this normal n usual? doctor said baby growing but very slow, will there be any problem? was asked to go back for 3rd scan next wk.

No need to stress, sometimes the heartbeat can't be seen until 8 or 10 weeks!  The sac and the baby are growing well, so there is nothing to worry about.  

You would only need to worry if there had been no growth from 4 weeks to 6 weeks.

Try to relax and wait for your next scan, I'm sure everything will be ok.

Its not unusual.. for some people it takes a bit more time to detect the heartbeat... Just relax for now. Good luck

I have had three children and the heartbeat could not be detected on all of them until between 10 and 11 weeks.....don't worry, everything will be fine.
