About Fall Semester Exam results?

I'm doing some research for a novel.

At college, when you take your fall semester exams, when do you get the results back?

Just to specify, my character is a freshman at NYU, but any information for any college would be very helpful.

I'm currently a student at Michigan State University, and the way they do it here is that after you take your exams the professors have a week to post the results,  which are viewible by the students online through a secure website. Sometime's professors will post them as soon as one day after the exam. Final exam week here is the first or second week of December, so a student could expect to have all their results by the second or third week of December.
