About Kimbo Slice , all the hype?

i just saw the fight of kimbo slice and james thombson fight, which i really didn't like the refree's stoppage and the fight was kinda sucked by the way no offense to kimbo, i just think he still need to improve on his basics and more on strking and submission and ground games and he needs more good cardio, i saw that kimbo was already gassing at late 2nd or 3rd round, and i don't see him to improve much now on because of his ages and he still needs lots of area that he is lacking at..

I agree.  I think that the MMA only used Kimbo for his "celebrity".  The other fights were amazing and addictive.  I thought the girls fought harder, stronger and better than the guys.  I can see why all you guys like the girls fighting...even I can admit that Gina is attractive.  Aside from that...the girls kicked ***!!!!  Kimbo needs to go back to youtube where he belongs.

Compared to guys fighting in their back yard, Kimbo is a beast.  But put him in there with professional fighters and he's barely competitive, even against bottom-of-the-barrel competition like James Thompson.  I have nothing against Kimbo wanting to try his hand at MMA, but he's not good enough to headline events.  And he's not living up to the hype.

The Kimbo fight pretty much reinforced what everyone who knows something about mma has been saying. This guy is c**p.

Good KO Power but no technique, no ground game and poor cardio. When James Thompson makes you look bad, you're pretty bad.

Another thought that baffles me is how the h**l can he be training 1 on 1 with Bas Rutten for this long and perform like that?

People say Kimbo's still learning, but he isn't getting younger and he isn't learning quickly.

Would like to see him fight Brett Rogers next. Accomplishes 2 things.

1. Shows Kimbo for what he truly is

2. Builds Rogers (A Decent Prospect) up for a potential jump to the UFC (The Marquee Promotion in the world, as evidence by Saturday's fiasco)

Let's face it: James Thompson has a glass jaw which has cost him six of his last eight fights. He is your proverbial journeyman in the MMA world, he'll take a fight, he probably won't win but he's good enough that he warrants a decent fight purse.

No, Kevin Ferguson isn't a great MMA fighter. He's admitted that before, he admitted it on national TV on Saturday night. He's a tough b*****d though, so this was a good fight for him that tested his limits, and was a much better fight than going up against an unknown or a washed-up fighter like Tank Abbot.

As for training and development, I think he can become a decent MMA fighter. Maybe not the best ever in the world, but I think he has a promising career to build upon.
