I have a few questions on Laser Eye Surgery...

Is it safe? How does it work exactly? How much does it cost? How old do you have to be to get it? Worth it? Thanks!

  1. Hello there....my sis is a doctor and i asked her and she said it is safe.

Now a days technology is advanced and i guess there isn't gonna be any problem.

    2) It depends on the problem you have for example a person's eyesight is extremely weak...so the doctors will laser the extra mass behind his eye and so his eyesight will be restored.

    3) The cost depends from country to country...I live in jeddah.

    4) I don't think there is an age problem

    5) It's definately worth it!!!!!!!!!! Bye

  2. It is safe for most people. I know lots that have had great success. However, it is not recommended for everyone. If you corneas are flat you may not be a good candidate. I have a friend that the doc did not recommend having it done - went ahead anyway and the entire cornea came off during the surgery and had to be glued back on. Risking having to get a cornea transplant. They only did one eye. Too risky doing both of them. So 1 eye is adjusted and the other needs glasses. Be careful. It cost approx. $1,000 US per eye in Mid-Atlantic area.

  3. I don't know what country you're in but this is a really good website of the best laser eye surgeons in the UK and even if you are in another country it will probably answer any questions you need to know the answers to.  They also have a forum on the website of people who are having and have had it done so you'd get loads of info there.

    www.ultralase.com

I'd say it was well worth it if you can afford it.  I'd love to have it done but haven't got the money.

    Good luck,

    Hil
