About Near Death Experiences...?

Why is it that the first reaction most people have after a near death experience is to laugh? Is it a mental defense mechanism to prevent shock, or do I just have a lot of weird friends?

  1. i have had more than one near death experience

    and i never laughed.

  2. Me and my kids was riding on our bikes in the woods and we was kind of close to a little pond/river and it was green and very dirt. I told my kids to get on the right side of me because the pond/river was on the left so I was riding on the left and I hit a rock and I was about 2 feet from falling in. So many deaths in that pond/river. I also was driving in what some people refer as the "Ghetto" which I refer to it as a bad neighborhood and I got out of my car because an couple was fighting and the man turned around with a 11" knife in his hand. He tried to stab me but help came fast enough and I and my partner restrained him without any injuries.

Also I did not laugh on either situations. On the first one we continued to ride for about 5 minutes then we never came back. I think my kids was very scared. I was scared for my kids not having a dad. And on the second one I was upset that someone would try to do that.

  3. Overwhelmed by certain emotions perhaps?...hard to say.

  4. idk. i almost got hit by a car doing about 40 at an intersection one time. i was shaking but i was so happy to be alive i was laughing.
