  3. I'm a huge fan of those cool trees myself.. they're called cypress trees, but my Italian friend told me they're often found near cemeteries so she doesn't think they're as cool as I do....

Tuscany is just really beautiful. Besides Florence and Pisa, I'd say the most famous tourist towns are Siena, San Gimignano, and Lucca.

I'd suggest Siena. It's easy to get there by train/bus and well worth a day trip. Plus, from Siena you'll be able to view those awesome Tuscan landscapes!!!

    buon viaggio!

  4. I know many people have already said it but I want to echo - GO TO SIENA!!  It is a beautiful city and very easy to get to.  As for another very interesting city (between Florence and Siena) try San Gimignano.  It's up on a hill, pretty small but gorgeous!

  5. Siena is one of the most appealing towns in Tuscany. The well-conserved medieval streets and piazzas are home to the annual festival of the Palio, a neck-or-nothing horserace which takes place in Siena's main square, the Campo. Early in its history, Siena was a Roman colony. It became a prosperous and important medieval town. Medieval Siena is so well-preserved because after the middle ages there was little development or industrialization. The Duomo is one of the most amazing ones in all of Italy. The inlaid marble mosaic floor is one of the most ornate of its kind in Italy, covering the whole floor of the cathedral.

  6. Without doubt the coolest city has to be Lucca. It's chic, has fantastic architecture, great history, dining and atmosphere.

Check out my website - it's about my recent honeymoon in Tuscany and has information on where we stayed, visited etc
