What do they mean when they mention "approval-in-principle" on the website? How soon after you apply do you get this? Does this apply if you are applying from the USA? Thanks.

  1. How soon you get it depends on which application you are doing and where from.  For example, if you look at the processing times on their website, you will see this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information...

    If you pick federal skilled worker, in the US that would go through Buffalo and the average processing time is 19 months.


  2. It means they have approved your application in principal and you may start work in Canada.
