  2. I have to assume you are talking about a leopard gecko.  It's skin is getting ready to shed.  Just make sure you keep a bowl of water in his tank to soak in and try misting him with a water bottle a couple times a day...if they don't shed completely, they can lose tips of their toes and/or claws.  My daughter volunteers at a local reptile rescue center and we adopted a leopard gecko that has only a few claws left due to that problem (before we got him).  Also, please go get a book about them, so that, hopefully, there won't be anymore problems or surprises!!

  5. shedding is all

just spray with a misting bottle

  6. As others have said, it is in the process of shedding. If it is a leopard gecko or a fat-tailed gecko, having a moist hide available at all times is essential. The moist hide can be as simple as a quart size plastic tub with a hole cut in the side (for the gecko to climb in and out) and with a couple of damp paper towels inside. Mist them every couple of days to keep them damp.

It will likely be finished shedding within a day or two. You may find a small patch or two afterwards, or you may not. They often eat the shed, unlike snakes.
