  1. It's quite easy.

    Here is an example:

    Type in .4 + .2

    you will get .6

Now, if you want the fractional representation, then

go to math press 1, then enter

and that will give you 3/5.

Who gave me thumbs downs, for this correct answer ?

Nobody else knew how to do it and besides I teach using the TI-84 calculator.

trailblazer1225: Obviously your school is terrible, because you can change a decimal to a fraction on the TI.

  2. nope the 84 is pretty lame. If this really matters to u get a 89 or a n-spire

  3. you cant. i have the calculator too. (my school says you cant do it)

that's a limitation of the calculator, i guess.

  4. to turn a decimal to a fraction you have to enter the decimal, then press [MATH]  [1:►Frac]  [ENTER].  [ENTER]. For example, to convert .25 to a fraction you do this: [.25]  [MATH]  [1: ►Frac] [ENTER]. [ENTER]. hope i helped.

  5. go into 'math' I think then 'number'? I don't have one in front of me but you can definitely do it.
