  1. Hi,

If its a pet in your house then its best to take the egg away as it will bite you etc. to defend the egg, and anyway theres a good chance that the egg isn't fertile anyway so its just a waste of the birds time trying to incubate it.

  2. it is not male

and just like chickens they can lay eggs that are not fertile and dson't need a male don't add a nest box and take out the eggs and replace with fake eggs so that she don't lay out more and die from calcium deficency

  3. remove it - our would lay 4 or 5 on alterate days they will not be fertile unless your bird has just been taken away from a male bird

  4. Molly is right, let her keep the egg until she abandons it. Do not give her a nest or breeding box, it will only cause her to lay more eggs. This is not good for her. You dont want to promote egg laying. It can eventually kill her.

  5. go on the parakeet web site and learn all that you can about them, first though you are going to have to get something for a nest, not anything you make, but allow the nesting to be made by the bird, you just provide stuff of it like cotton and string maybe yarn, the bird will know what to do, but another thing, you are going to have to get another bird that will provide for the one sitting on the egg, I read someplace that the other takes care of the one sitting on the egg....God Bless.

  6. Let the bird do what it has to do with it.

You can let nature follow its path :)

The "mom" will take care of it.

Plus, go and talk to a vet for more info.

  7. I have a cockateil that lays every year in the bottom of her cage i was told to let her incubate the egg until the day it is ment to hatch although its infertile, then take it away this keeps the hen healthy,  Because if you take it away she might keep laying more eggs to replace the one taken away.

  8. Let the parakeet keep going down to the egg.  Leave the egg alone.
