Question:

About a pinched nerve in my back?

I pinched a nerve in my lower back a couple years ago playing football, and had to sit out for a week and a half because I just couldn't move around, it hurt like h**l.

Then the other day we were rolling in my Krav Maga class and when I got up I felt the same sharp pain in my lower back down my right leg, the exact same spot...

So my question is, is there any way to recover faster from a pinched nerve other then just to wait until it goes away? And if you pinch a nerve in one spot does it make it more likely it will happen again?

  1. The nerves are being pinched - by something!

That is the incorrect position and placement of your spine and hip joints.

A good chiropractor can easily help this problem and keep it from coming back.

It will take 8-12 visits - get a good one from an insurance provider list, even if you don't have insurance, they are the best and most reasonable.

  2. if it is pinched and it sounds like it is some thing is pushing against that nerve that should not be and it could get worse with out proper medical treatment

THE SHEPARD CENTER  in ATLANTA GA.is the best spinal center i am close to but you should go to a place that specializes in the nerves or at least a dr that does A NEUROROLIGIST

    GOOD LUCK MAN

  3. A good acupuncturist can help you by releasing the pressure on the nerve by sticking needles in the pressure points.  Pinched nerves are ruptured blood vessels which build up pressure and push against the nerve so what the acupuncture does is release the bad blood, very dark in color. You feel the effects immediately after one session. It shouldn't recur unless you rupture some blood vessels in the same area.

Another method is by suction, use a needle sanitized of course and puncture the skin on the effected part, burn the inside of a small cup with cotton ball swathed with alcohol until its hot, then apply it on the part, After about 15 minutes take cup away. You will find the cup has some darkish blood also the area is dark blue, don't worry it will go away in a day or two.

  4. You may need to lose a little weight.  Most athletes that get injuries quit playing sports and still eat like an athlete.  If you gained at least 10-20 lbs. that is like adding a bag of stones on your back.

  5. go to your Dr:the pain running down your leg means its your sciatic nerve being pinched.you may have a herniated disc.

best would be, to have an MRI:the same thing happening again and again:something is pressing on the nerve!

  6. try going to a massage therapist(not a prissy one ether  one who really knows what thirdingg ) With all that knowledge about muscles i know they can help

  7. I'm not shure but try sleeping on the floor with out a pillow ,that's wat my dads ex did when her back hurt.

  8. you have a right sided sciatic pain.  Lycopodium and Colocynthis may be of help to you here.  The best thing you can do is to apply some acupressure on the hands and legs for the lumbar region reflex points. On the hands it is between the thumb and index finger on the back side of the palm towards the bone.  In the legs it is on the sole inside  bone near the arc of the bridge. Press for two minutes.  When pain on these points vanish, your back will be relaxed and pain there also reduces to large extent.  The sciatic nerve finds its way without being pinched. Try Markadasan, Bhujangasan, Shalabhasan, Ushtrasan, chakrasan, dhanaurasan and all asans bending backwards.  None should be done bending forward until you are completely recovered.

    with best wishes.

a physical therapist or a chiropractor can fix your problem. drugs will cover the pain only.

physical methods can do more for you. the fact that it happened more than once indicates that you need to find and fix the biomechanical problem so that you do not continue wiht the problem. it can get worse over time.
