About action auditions?

as above, i really like acting and it's always been my dream to act, but i've done some research on the internet and they say it's hard to get a part, stuff like that.

but for people like Georgie Henley(i'm about the same age as her), how exactly does she get her part? i mean, narnia was her first film, and it was great sucess. did she just go to the auditions herself, or did she have a manager/agent, something like that beforehand? or she went to a acting school of some kind? and like i've heard, you need to have a lot of experience, talent, and stuff... did she already have a lot of experience, like school plays, etc. before?

and the same for people like miley cyrus..... how did she find those auditions? did she already have an agent before?

i was just wondering, could anybody give me some advice....like where i should start, better agency companies, and where i can find specific auditions for movies for girls around 12?? thanks a lot.....

  1. I need to know where you live like if you live in LA  there are A LOT in New York there are A LOT   or chocago A LITTLE

  2. you can look for casting calls here: hollywood-opportunities(dotcom)

  3. You cant just start from the top and be on TV and Movies in a week. Miley Cyrus worked her butt off! She worked in acting classes for months and months! Then when she decided she was ready, she got and agent and started getting auditions.

You WILL have to do lots of theatre work before you get to commercials and movies! Anything online is FAKE! Like Proscout, and Hollywood Profiles. They take your money.

I would suggest you get into some acting classes, practice improv, and remembering lines. Take acting classes for awhile. And, you'll know when your ready. When you are, get an agent.

And your right, you DO need alot of experience. They don't just let someone up there that's never even been in one play. Call your local advertising company, and ask about where to start acting classes. I would suggest starting a resume, and getting about 3 or 4 headshots, as well as keeping your scene scripts, and monolouges in your acting portfolio.

Do NOT let anyone tell you that it is ALL about looks. That you have to have a certain look. You DON'T! It's what the producer and casting crew is looking for. You do not have to have "that look"
