About an hour ago. I ran a 1.5 mile in 13:00. I would like to increase it by 1 or 2 minutes. Any suggestions?

  1. Yes real running shoes would be more comfortable. But if you really want to increase your speed just keep practicing so you will build up endurance.

  2. You should get running shoes, they will be better on your feet.  Keep running, that's how you are going to get better. Just keep pushing yourself harder.  That's what I do.

  3. run faster

  4. well as far as the shoes i would say get good running shoes, because it will help support other parts of your body, as for getting quicker times train more, just run each day and maybe even twice a day and you'll build stronger muscles that can increase your speed

  5. run faster... shoes dont really help with the occasional run, but offer support for chronic runners

  6. Yes it would help a lot, but also i would suggest running with ankle weights a few times, because it will make your legs stronger faster, and when you take them off to run it will be way easier. you can get them at walmart or the internet.  A music device will also helps a lot because it will keep you motivated if you have the right songs to listen to.

  7. Real running shoes make a world of difference. They are way better on your feet, and they make you run alot better. That is why they make a RUNing shoe, and an INDOOR soccer shoe. lol

I run track so i get it. You run faster by eating healthy, drinking a ton of water, and sleep at least 8 hours or more a day. Being healthy meaning eating lots of protien and greens are a big part of running, and make sure you dont eat 30 minutes before you run. I can not stress to you enough how important stretching is BEFORE AND AFTER you run. you play soccer dude you should know all this

  8. yeah, they would help, you don't have to join any type of team just make sure you run every day, and change pace and run multiple times a few times a week.(twice a day)

  9. you have to just keep running that 1.5 miles but pick up the pace everytime

  10. join a track team

  11. Go soccer! Umm, shoes will just make it feel better, but I suggest runnig more and pushing yourself harder and harder each time. It helps me an awful lot. God luck getting to 11 or even 10 minutes!
