About aryans?

Question

punjabis are indo-aryans. its all a bit confusing. but i just want to know what they are a mixture of. ive read they are possable, decendents of russians, ukraines, persians, iranians and also greeks (alexanders army, which invaded and settled in north india).

can some one clear this one up for me.

(i am not refering to hitlers idea of aryan race)

I think the Indo-Aryans you're referring to are people who spoke early Indo-European languages.  That pretty much covers the nationalities you just described: from Punjabis to Ukranians, to Greeks to Germanic peoples they all fit under the umbrella of Indo-European language groups.

The Indo-European language is thought to be the ancient common language from which all the languages in its group evolved.

the Aryans were like the vikings. funny thing is, when they "conquered" another society, they didn't kill all of them. they "absorbed" the victims/culture. keeping women for mates, children as slaves,servants,workers, and even to raise.
