About claiming to the other person's insurance? He was at fault

How long does it usually takes until they tell me that I can take my car to a body shop? I want to claim his insurance since he was at fault. If I claim mine it will be faster but I would have to pay a deductible... I dont know what to do? How long does it take? thanks, i will choose a best answer!

Depending on the companies and the clearness of the case, sometimes up to a month.

Unless the damage to your vehicle is minor, I would just claim it under your insurance and pay the deductible up front.  If it is later determined that the other person was at-fault then you will be refunded the deductible amount.

I would recommend using your own insurance.  Your deductible will be returned to you when your insurance company and their many lawyers collect from the other company.  It's faster and much less hassle than waiting for the other company .   If there are snags, your insurace will have to solve them, not you
