About component video cables.?

Question

I need to extend my xbox 360 component cable is it possible for me to use couplers and extend it with a normal rca connected to it? Would it work?

It is of course possible, as my favorite saying goes, "the electrons don't care what color the wire is"

That being said, component connections are analog and therefore can suffer from electrical interference and the signal can easily be degraded. Therefore, you may want to think about using some higher-quality (read: shielded) cables, however don't get too worried about stuff like gold-plating as that just means there is a microscopic layer of gold around the normal steel connector. For short runs, the cheapest you can get will likely be more than adequate.
