The ship that we are going on is called Costa Romantica. The ships cabin occupancy is four people. The person that is in charge of this cruise plan told me that: The first 2 people have to pay $609 and the last two pay less. How are we supposed to work this out?

  1. your FRIEND should take the total for the cabin and divide it by 4.  the 3/4 guest pay a lower fare but if you are splitting the cabin and want to keep being friends then divide by 4.

  2. Add the cost per person together and divide by four, simple.

  3. Figure out the total cost of the cabin.  Lets say the first two are $609 each and the last two are $303 each.  Then the total is $1824 ($609 + $609 + $303 + $303).  Divide the total by four.  Then each of you pays an equal amount.  In this example each person would pay $456 ($456 * 4 = $1824).

  4. I suggest that if you and 3 other people (total of 4) are cruising in the same cabin you find the total price of the cruise and divide it by 4 so you all pay the same.

Once you book the cruise the cruise line is going to give you a total for all 4 people, not a total per person.  So if the total is $1800, that's what you will all own the cruise line.
