  1. This site should answer most of your questions:

I haven't had it done myself, but I may have to in the future... I have c**p front teeth also :(

  2. I have dental implants. There are different ways dental professionals approach implants.  The way the poster above mentioned and the way I got them. I had "teeth in a day" they removed all my teeth, put the implants in and attached my new teeth that very day. I never had to go one day without teeth.

It hurt because I had my teeth pulled that day. But once my mouth was healed from getting all my teeth pulled I was fine. Feel free to write to me if you would like.

  3. First I have to ask are you a smoker? What is the condition of the rest of your teeth? How much bone loss did your dentist say you have. The reason why I ask you if you smoke, not a decent dentist in the world will put an implant in a smoker. Due to the fact that by placing an implant you are  possibly adding bone as well. Smoke burns bone and kills it from growing. The condition of the rest of your teeth are as important as well. If the rest of you teeth have Periodonatal disease and have the same problem as your front teeth, depending on how much money you are willing to spend implants can be very very expensive. Placing implants are very time consuming as well. This can take up to a whole year from the time bone is placed to placing the implant itself, then once the implant is placed its another 6 months for healing. Also keep in mind most dentist tell you the cost of the implant and leave out the cost of the crown that goes on the implant. Just remember going cheap may not be the best thing. Find a dentist that strictly does this because the more a dentist has done implants the more experience this person has, which in turns is a better outcome for you.

  4. Implants are the best option for lasting results if you have good oral hygiene, see your dentist regularly, and don't smoke or have certain health problems. If you have having a tooth pulled you can have the implant s***w placed at the time of extraction, often. Sometimes a bone graft is needed to prevent the s***w from being too close to the sinus. The s***w must heal a month or two. After this a healing cap is placed and after a few weeks to a month a tooth can be placed on it. No significant pain, just minor soreness during the very first placement for a few days. We actually had someone who had them placed at the oral surgeon and didn't believe they did anything b/c it didn't hurt. We had to take an xray to show her proof/ second opinion. An alternate option would be a bridge which crowns stable teeth next to the gap and has fake teeth present in the middle. It is cemented in and works great also. Healing time is still required for a minimum of 2-3 weeks after extractions. Sometimes a temporary flipper/ partial device can be made for a couple hundred dollars extra.
