I need help here, I fell in love with a cottage that I found on www.welcomecottages.com, it says that the cottage location is: Drumconrath, Co. Meath. I can not find Drumconrath on my garmin quest gps, I did find DRUMCONDRA though, does it make a difference ? Is it nice there ?

  1. Drumcondra is in Dublin city, practically in the city centre. Dromconrath is probably in Meath, and might not even be a village, just the name of an area in the countryside, which is why you can't find it on the gps (there are more places in Ireland than the ordnance survey people know anything about).

Don't mix these places up. Get a phone number or e-mail address for the organisation and contact them directly to verify what the nearest large town is. And get an atlas.

  2. Drumconrath is a small village in I believe in co. louth (or at best on the meath/louth border) take a left in the small town of Ardee in co louth head inland for about 20km enroute for say kingscourt in co, cavan. I have been there a couple times I remember seeing a pretty row of semi detch stone cottages. The last time I was there was 2003/4.

  3. i'd rather go to drumcondra, my aunt lives there, but i'm sure the place in meath is alright

  4. The village of Drumconrath (near the town of Ardee) is also known as Drumcondra - confusing I know. There is also an area in north Dublin called Drumcondra, so don't mix them up.
