About engineering: confused between Information Technology and Computer Science

my younger brother just cleared 12 . He is interested in doin BTECH now .I m from commerce background and have no idea about this engineering stuff. Now with choosing the field i got confused with Computer Science and Information Technology as the subject . Can anyone out there can tell me what is the difference between these two and which one is superior.Any suggestion will be helpful.Thanks

  1. Computer science deals with the design of computers, programming them, and interfacing them to other hardware and/or equipment.  Information technology is more about application of computer technology to other tasks.

I am from Computer systems background ,and what I really discovered along the way, IT is more interesting than Computer Science ,IT student specializes with software's including programming as whole ,IT gradutes can work as programmers/developers ,network Administrators,System Administrators,Database Administrator  and b4 I forget Developers are people who develop softwares that ,we are using in our offices

    Computer science is very broad course and their gradutes can specializes with different department can also work as an engineer/ IT specialisit

    But to be honest is not anyone who complete their degree without any obstacle cos is very demanding than IT

    and more Advantages than IT

    in short IT is one of the subject of Computer science
