About form l 600?

Question

I'm an american citizen and my wife is from Brazil. We are in the process of adopting a child from brazil. We live in the United States. We already have the form" I 600 A " approved. We now need to submit the form" I 600" since we already have identified the child. We are not sure whether we should file the form in the United States or in Brazil. If anybody has the answer I'll really appretiate it.

For China, we file it in China.

If I'm remembering right, you file the I-600 in the US if you are not travelling to the country.  if you are, you file it at the US consulate in-country.  If your wife is a Brazilian citizen, I don't know how that would affect the process.

What does your Lawyer/ Adoption Agency  say?  I think you file all US INS forms in the US, but better to ask an actual expert!
