About furthering medical educations (residency) in Canada?

How can a "general practitioner" who has finished his/her education in a developing country, which does not have any contract with canadian universities, further his/her education in one of the canadian university, for residency training.

Is there any possibility? Should s/he wait until s/he becomes a canada permanent resident?

  1. u can study as an international student, but of course it would be cheaper for u if u become a canadian citizen.
