  1. What is the logic of glutamic acid increasing intelligence. Is it some neurotransmitter precursor or something?

  2. Here's your answer, Alyssa.  It does NOT increase intelligence.  Glutamic acid is itself a transmitter, and is also a precursor for another tranmitter, GABA.  The problem is that when glutamic acid is given systemically (injected, eaten, etc.), it does not readily enter the brain, because it does not cross the blood brain barrier.  So, it will not increase your intelligence.  Sorry.
