About gps systems? just wondering?

hi for those that own one, do you pay monthly fees to have acces to the maps. i have this doubt since a long time ago. thanks.

Everyone asks that question but when you buy a gps it is loaded with the maps. Garmin has alot of good units to buy for your needs. The only time that you will have to upgrade your gps is when its about 3 or 4 years old and they have built new roads or new resturants or motels then you will need to do that to upgrade your gps or they maybe a new road or shopping mall that you may miss.

From what i know you dont. Before when gps systems were "special" you did, now you dont

You don't pay any access fees for maps.  Once you have them, they're stored in your GPS for use at any time.   If you want an update service to keep the maps current you would pay for that.
