About how long should a dialectical journal response be?

Our teacher gave us a summer reading project over "The Book Thief". She gave us a paper with an example response. Its a whole paragraph long. On the internet I see responses about two sentences long. Should I write a long response or a short one?

Your teacher's example matters more than the internet example-- she's showing you exactly what she wants.  After all, your assignment is being written for your teacher, not the dude who wrote the example on the internet.

I would definitely recommend that you write a paragraph-length response, just like her example.
