Assuming the 2 people without experience stay out of the way and the 2 with experience get the right sander. 4days

if you rent two large belt sanders (for finishing hardwood floors) an run them continuously you can do about 5sq ft a minute. that would be 600 minutes=10hrs. with 4 workers you can trade off an get rest an keep the work going. get a pack of replacement belts and two long ext. cords. a day each stain an varish. thing is, if you have a place with 3000 sq ft of hardwood floors please refinish it! they don't build homes like that anymore.

A good two days for the sanding, perhaps three if there's a lot of corner work (small rooms, unusually shaped rooms) and at least three days for refinishing.

It takes some time for refinishing because with most products (not all) you need to wait 24 hours between coats, and most recommend you use two or three coats for durability.

BTW I agree, that's a lot of beautiful hardwood flooring. You don't see that these days.
