About how many television channels were in the 1960s? today we have over 700 how many than?

  1. 12, until UHF came along.

    They were numbered 2-13.  There was once a channel 1, but the frequency was reallocated.


  2. Each city had the three major networks, ABC, NBC, CBS and maybe PBS (I believe it was called NET back then).  If they were lucky there was also an Independent station.

    When the President wanted to make an address, the whole night was a loss!
