About how many times a weak are the breaks surfable in san diego?

They dredge the beaches a lot here and it screws up the breaks. Sometimes it makes them better and more dangerous and unpredictable. I would go at high tide, every day. Try Swami's and paddle out from the north. Go around the rocks.

waves r surfable every day. only the true soul surfers go when everybody says it sucks!!!!

Just like everything else in life, it's whatever you make of it.  Paddling out in crappy waves is still fun if you are with the right people. Plus it'll make you a better surfer since it's harder to ride. If you bring the right boards, and are willing to drive, San Diego County can be surfed almost 365 days a year if you look hard enough.  And as a last resort, there's Bruticus Maximus in Mission Bay. Just be careful of falling on that faux-wave.

THere are good month and bad.. I got spoiled when i lived in Hawaii. When i was down in SD, I surfed the c**p waves too. It is what you make of it. Sd is still consider the surf capital. Great for all types of surfers.
