  1. Angel, it appears that no one but me understands your question. I spend about $250 a month on fuel for both of my vehicles, which works out to about $3,000 per year. Now this is just a really gross oversimplification, but let's say I'm average, and I have an average family of 4. Multiply that times the very rough estimate that there are maybe 75,000,000 average households in the country, and they spend about the same as me. That would mean that the country spends about $225,000,000,000 (225 billion) every year to fuel their private vehicles. This doesn't count trucks, trains, fleet vehicles, company cars, and other things like aircraft. Just ordinary families. I would imagine that you could at least probably double the $225,000,000,000 and come fairly close to the total that the whole country pays every year, say, $500,000,000,000 (500 billion). That's my estimate, based on a little research. Believe it if you want.

  3. According to the gov't statistics, Americans spent 1,132,824,000 dollars on gasoline alone in 2006, the latest data available.  That's 1.1 trillion, yes.  I used the 2006 consumption data to find that there was 377 million gallons of gasoline sold and used $3/gallon as the base price.  This is for all grades of gasoline together, though regular accounts for about 75-80% of gasoline sales.
