yes asphalt is cheaper and less expensive to repair.  concrete is more durable, depending on what part of the country you live in.  best thing to do is get at least eight bids from reputable company's that have referrences and are listed with the better business br.  good luck

about 3000 and up...depending on the amount of prep work involved and accessibility etc...

Also check the prices of oil and stone, but you need to see a driveway made of that to know if that will work for you. I had one for years, lived in the snow belt and it worked fine.
