  1. every baby is different, my child is 9 months old and has never been sick. I also think it has to do with the genes the child has, my husband never gets sick so I think that she got that gene from him

  2. It really depends on the baby.  Some babies never get sick. Some get sick often.

In general, breastfeeding and staying at home tends to reduce the odds of illness.  Formula feeding and daycare increase the odds.

(My breastfed, cared-for-at-home baby was never sick her entire first year of life.)

  3. When I took my son to the ER because of an ear infection the Doc told me that healthy children from birth to age 1 statistically catch a virus 14 times. So that is more than once a month. Hope this helps

  4. Well you can never predict things like that. It depends on things like is the child in day care? Does the child have silblings that go to school that can bring illnesses home? Kids get sick..Its not fun but its the reality.
