About installing anti-virus ?

Question

I bought a pc with etrust antivirus it was a few years ago now . So it is now out of date , I get free protection form my internet supplier but to download it tells me I have to uninstall any other anti-virus first as running both could seriously harm my pc . Went to add and removes but it will not uninstall it, could I run the both ,or any body got advice on how to uninstall etrust

a good tip with removing unwanted programs.

go off line ~many programs link back to their web site when you try to remove them.

you can use more than 1 antivirus,but some do clash.

Download deletedr 2.1 from this link.

Download to save instead of run.  Then place a shortcut on your desktop before you run the software.   When your software open, you will see BROWSE, OPEN BROWSE, AND OPEN PROGRAM FILES, AND LOOK FOR ETRUST AND THEN CLICK ON ETRUST.  YOU WANT THE SAME ICON IN DELETEDR AS YOU HAVE IN YOUR TRAY OR DESKTOP.  WHEN THE FILE IS IN DELETEDR, CHECK ON, DELETE ON THE NEXT REBOOT.  THIS ONE IS THE PAST.  REBOOT YOUR PC AND THEN GO TO YOUR TRAY, OPEN START, OPEN RUN AND TYPE IN: c://program files, double click on browse, open program files and look for etrust and delete the file.  

Now, go back to your tray open start, open search and type in etrust and let your PC, search for all related files.  When files are shown, delete them from the bottom up.  If any say write protected or in use by another file, just reboot and go back and usually will delete this time.  

Now download the free software http://www.ccleaner.com  Run registry and cleaner to remove all junk files, folders and subfolders, plus registry keys that no longer have any value.  You will have the option to save your registry keys that were deleted.  Myself I never save any registry key this software deletes as I have used for years and it is 100% trusted.

Yes there cannot be two antivirus system in one computer.Conflict will be there.And exit your etrust from from the taskbar  and try uninstalling it.
