About my Iguana Lola!?

Do they like it when you massage them? She closes her eyes when I rub the top of her head. Is this just a protective response to something being too close to her eyes?

  1. I say yes to both parts. It seems to me that my lizards like being petted on the head, but do close eyes when fingers get near them.

  2. Yes, they usually do like when you rub the top of there head ... but you do need to be careful when rubbing the top of there head. If they are shedding try not to use your fingernail around the 3rd eye.

If your iguana some what trusts you they will close both eyes. You may find that your ig has 1 eye still opened.

My girl loves to be rubbed right between her eyes and her snout, and the tuberculates scales.

If they don't want "lovings" they usually well let you know. My girl will use one of her back legs and kinda scratch me in a way pushing my hand away, kinda like "stop doing that" type of thing. Depending on s*x and if it's breeding season and age may all depend on what they do, some my try and nip/bite at you, so do be careful.
