About my strange feeling?

Hi. I was in an work place for a while I knew 2 good friends. We hanged out for quite a long time and I have to leave for my school. He said he's sad about my leaving and sometimes he suddenly ask "could you not going for school?" And he called off one day to send me to the airport. He also refused to have another roommate after I left our room. I know he thinks I'm his good friend but today after I get off the flight he called me and he said " I was about to ask u the internet thing cuz my laptop cant go on internet. That's beyond my expectation cuz I was thinking about he's gonna ask my trip like" have u arrived and how's ur trip something like this. So I was sad for a while.
