Question:

About myheritage smart matching function?

Hi.

I've used myheritage.com for my genealogy research.

I never uploaded my family tree to internet but the smart matching function is working and I can see other family members research and matches which relate to my tree.

Can people with the same matches see my research as well though I never uploaded anything?

  1. If you never uploaded anything, no, the smart matches can't see YOUR work. It can, however, see work by others who may have found the same people you did and cited the same sources you did.

MyHeriage, the old GenCircles, doesn't invade your computer. It looks through all of the data people have uploaded. The farther back you go, the more smart matches you are likely to have. If you used one of the Buckleys who lived in the colonies in the 1600's to get to Charlemagne, for instance, you'll have thousands of smart matches.
