  1. I spent three weeks there last summer, so I'm not a resident but I can tell you some things that I did pick up on while I was there. First of all, it's really foggy, and it rains a fair amount. Around some parts of the ocean we were wearing our winter jackets bc the rain got so cold. Also, everyone speaks in wicked accents. It's almost like really strong Irish, with a little bit of other Canadian east coast accent mixed in. They have a lot of expressions that are really funny and would make no sense unless you understood them, so we got like a little newfie term dictionary. Hmm what else did I notice...

    - the people are incredibly friendly

    - the teenagers have nothing to do but drink (this is according to the few teenagers I met there)

    - there are a lot of fishermen living there

    - people welcome you into their homes unlike they do here

    - most residents are very proud to be newfie

    - everything is clean and there is nature everywhere, their largest city doesn't even feel like a major city (in a good way)

I'm not sure what else I could say...it's awesome? Pretty much, you should go.

  2. It's great in there
