About olympic's females 4*100m medlay relay that Australia won..did da 2nd Aussie swimmer take off too early?

Anyone recording the event? I was watching 4*100m medlay relay (females) live from NBC 20 minutes ago and wasnt quite sure whether the second Australian swimmer, Jones in lane 4, jumped off earlier before her teammate, the first swimmer Seebohm touched the wall. If i wasnt wrong, was it ok to do that? since they won the gold medal. If I was wrong, please dont mind my wonder...

  1. Touch pad sensors and sophisticated electronics monitor everything so there is no chance of getting away with jumping early in modern olympic swimming.

    Australia won fair and square!


  2. No they were all legal starts.

    There is a touch pad on the starting blocks that will record a false (early) start.

  3. Yeah ,I noticed that when i watched the race and was a bit worried, but I think the timing equipment would have picked it up .So therefore I think it must have been legal.
