Question:

About once saved, always saved; isn't that dependent on persons definition of being saved from what?

I mean that some people are Christian disciples, yet don't really commit to Christ, so are just disciples who learn from Gods word so are saved from some things, but aren't yet born of God, and so haven't yet received eternal life.

So are saved from some things being Christian disciples (not yet born of God though). And they can loose their salvation if they never do completely trust & obey God enough to confess with their mouth Jesus Christ their Lord & Savior while believing in their heart He raised from the dead.

2. So these type of pre-salvation Christians may loose eternal life (Salvation) even though they were saved from other things in this life?

  1. once saved, always saved was an invention of one man named Calvin and you did not know if you were saved or not it was predestined before your birth..He had the fools going around with journals writing down everything that they did to try and figure out if they were saved or not...then the teaching was then bastardized by the thousands of denominations to it current false cuddley meaning of today..Read up on it you will soon find that this teaching is a bunch of c**p and no single bible verse will condone it

  2. I agree with Joel V. No one who has received AUTHENTIC salvation from God can loose it. How can you tell is authentic? God confirms it in your heart and through your actions in life. As a saved person you are prepared to do good works (but you're not saved by them, only by grace). God has prepared the ones for salvation. IF you say: "I'm saved, I can do whatever I want now since I can't loose salvation". YOu're not saved then, because as a son of God, you'll voluntarily commit good works and love to do them. If not, then the bible says that all persons who do evil, are sons of evil too. Sons of God= good works by nature, Devil= evil works by nature. Got it?:)

Sorry I couln't mention bible pass. but I didn't have my bible with me. But e-mail me if you like and I'll give them to you:)

  3. Hello,

Great question. I agree with you and I don't believe once you have been saved you are covered for good, regardless of what you do.

Even Jesus himself said there will be people casting out demons and prophesying in his name, and Jesus will say "I do not know you."

So sure, Christ is salvation and God forgives our sins based on his sacrifice.

But does that mean we can pray "God please forgive us" and then go around committing the same sins? No, you have to ask for forgiveness, and then live according to God's commands.

If you sin again, pray for forgiveness again, and repent (which means ask for forgiveness, and then change your ways).

If you get arrested for commiting a crime, and serve your time you are released from the prison. But does that mean you are good forevere? No, commit another crime and you will be right back in there!

God offers salvation, but you need to pray to accept it, and then follow His way once you do it. If you slip, then repent and you are covered. Otherwise, you are not covered.

That is just my interpretation and opinion. Great question!

  4. A person is either completely saved or not saved at all.

There is evidence of someone being saved. True salvation leads to performing good works through faith, rather than having faith in good works.

  5. When a person accepts Jesus he is 'saved' in a sense in that he is no longer under the condemnation of breaking the law (sin). But if he deliberately continues to sin he brings himself under that condemnation.

Christian life is not about being 'saved' and then partying with sin thereafter. It is a constant "watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation".

And, by the way, for those who say you cannot lose your salvation - you are not saved until you reach heaven and that will happen only after you die. That could be late to find out that you were wrong, after all.

  6. You can have your name blotted out,

that doesnt sound like once saved always saved to me

  7. You're teaching salvation by works, and that is a false gospel (Galatians 1:6-9).

"Committing to Christ" doesn't save you.  If you think it does, then how do you know that you're saved?  Are you "committed" enough?  NOBODY is!

The truth is salvation is by FAITH ALONE in the death and resurrection of Jesus.  And it is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (1 John 5:13 says to KNOW that you are saved...... how can you KNOW if you think you can lose salvation????)
