About prepaid electricity bill?

Hi, I am in Adelaide. I am thinking to change my electricity bill payment method to prepaid if possible because the people from the electricity company always forget to shut the door properly after taking the read. And my dog is easy to escape.

Does anyone know if I can buy electricity by card to avoid people coming to my house?

just take your account  into the post office once a month and pay the amount you think it costs for that time period then ring the electricity company and till them that you will be home (say) first monday of the month or some similar thing i do this a they a happy to do this for in qld

If your electric company offers prepaid electric service than yes, you can buy a rechargeable card which eliminates the need for meter readings. However, the electric company may still come out and spot check the equipment periodically.

Another option is to relocate the meter base and metering equipment to the outside of your house. Or, if by door you mean gate, you can also relocate the meter base and metering equipment to a pole outside the gated area. This would require work by an electrician and could be expensive though depending on the distance it needs to be relocated.
