I wish there was a book "Wheel Fitment for Dummies".. or maybe there is? Anyway I'm complete dummy in this field so my simple question is: "What size wheels will fit on '98 Town Car without modification?" Original size is 225/60/16. I'm interested in upgrading factory wheels and I want to know specifics of wheel size which can be fitted on the car without needing any modification. For example, can I fit 17'' rim? Or 16'' wider tire?

  1. you can fit a larger wheel size , but it may affect the speedo reading, you can get it re calibrated, the 2005 town car uses a17" rim and should fit the 98 without an issue. on the wheel is the 'offset' details this tell you how far off the hub the center of the wheel sits, match this and you can change the wheels to any size that fits under the arch
