1) i have a 4 port wireless router and a 4 port router. can i use router link to wireless router?

2) if i have 2 wireless router, can they link together? because one of the wireless router is linking to modem

  1. It would be easier to use an access port to increase the number of connections to your modem.

    If you still want to use both the routers then check this forum that someone that asked the same question:

    Both routers need  WDS functionality in order for them to bridge together.


  2. You can link the 'wired' router to the 'wireless' router yes.

    These routers typically have only 1 router port and 3 or 4 switch ports

    If you say take on port from the wired router and link it to the wireless routers swich port - then you will have more swich ports available - so you can plug in more devices locally

    You don't really want to hook up two routers - then you'd be building two networks - not sure you want that

    So your connection would be modem --> wireless router --> wired router

    On one of the routers make sure you turn off services like DHCP - or you will have a conflict when machines are trying to get IP addresses.

    1. Yes. Just configure your wireless router with a public IP so that it will work and broadcast it with private IP.

    2. You have 4 ports router connected to your modem right? you can link that just same as you did in no.1.
