  1. 1. WRONG - two tiles apart only

    2. true only if all of your kingdom has been wiped out - Read Dan's answer, it is correct!

    3. Kings are not cannibals! -WRONG

and thanks for the two points and the laugh.

  2. ok....

! no the kings cannot be 1 tile away from each other

    2.yes it is true.

    3. no you cannot eat a king you could only put it in check or checkmate.

  3. Hello --

I am a hard core chess player ...

    1.  The kings can never get next to each other, consider that both kings would be in check. There must always be at least one square separating them.  This becomes a very important principle (the opposition) in end-game play!

    2.  I am sorry -- I don't understand the second question very well.  if you have only sixteen moves ... all the moves could be winning moves or losing moves. Generally some moves are better than others ... desperation doesn't really come into it.  The goal is to find the best move.

    3.  In fact the best way to understand this problem is to see that kings can never be captured, the game is over when checkmate is given.  The rules prohibit the checkmated player from ever moving.

I gather you are just learning the game ... and sometimes the rules seem very arbitrary.  In fact as you study the game ... you see that the rules have functions.

    Good Luck On Your Journey,

    W. H.

  4. 1. false-- Kings can never get next each other

    2. ? "desparted"?? typo there, I think.

    3. The term is not "eat", but I know what you mean.  False --they can not get next to each other.

  5. 1.  no, there always has to be at least 1 tile between them

    2.  I don't know what despareted means.

    3. no....  A king could hypothetically help to secure a checkmate; but as I said, they can't even get next to each other.  As it is, kings don't get 'taken'....they can get put into checkmate, but that is not the same thing and it ends the game

  6. 1) Kings can not move next to each other. If a king moved next to another king, he would be putting himself in check, which is an illegal move.

    2) You need to rephrase this question. What I think you are trying to say is about the 16 move rule. The rule is, when one side only has their king and no other peices, the opposing player has to checkmate them within 16 moves or the game is considered a draw.

    3) No, as no peice ` eats ` each other. Kings can not take each other either, as is the correct term.

    I hope this helps :D
