are they different?

which one's better?

I haven't read the manga but I've seen the anime.  If you want to do both, I suggest reading the anime first.  But if you only want to do one, watch the anime. =]

I know that's not too helpful, but that's what I would do.  Samurai champloo is a great anime by the way.  Hope you love it as much as I did.
