About shells?

I would like to share an incident that happened to me here in Boca Raton, Florida. Recently, I called the attention of a police officer about an old woman that fills up bags full of shells a couple of days a week. The officer answered, “that is none of my business.” He said that the sea produces more and more. He sarcastically invited me to take a bag and start collecting shells like everybody else.

  1. just proves that the police's ability to serve and protect has a very limited jurisdiction.

    - I rarely trust those who respect authority, since that authority is in place to control.

  2. What is the problem? She probably makes art or jewelry. Guess I don't see your concern. And yeah what's a cop going to do about picking up sea shells?

  3. I can see how shells are important to the environment and everything, but I also respect the fact that the woman is taking time to enjoy nature. The first step to making a difference in the environment is caring, and if she is passionate about the ocean and the shells in it, she might take time to pick up trash on the ocean as well.

It's nice of you to care about the shells, there is always more than one way of looking at a problem.

  4. thats what i always do when i go to florida

  5. Do you have any idea how unimportant that is? What is more important, and harmful, is that someone believes they have the right to interfere in everything that people do. What you need to do is get a life. While you are at it, try to prioritize your list of "things for a peon like me to do to save the planet."

By the way, get a large globe. Try to picture the size of yourself holding a seashell down there somewhere.
